The K Club

This week in reading we practiced our comprehension skills by acting out the stories we read the week before. The Roadrunners had a great time acting out The Ugly Duckling and Mr. Wolf's Big Surprise. Be sure to ask them about their experience as actors.

In math we are discovering a different way to tell time. For example, a quarter past 1 is 1:15, half past 2 is 2:30, and a quarter 'til 7 is 6:45. Please ask your Roadrunner to explain this to you. Remember teaching is the final stage of learning!

East Lake

The Roadrunners have been exploring the wonders of linear measurement! Practice at home. Measure distances from the kitchen to the front door, etc. Measure the perimeter of area rugs and bedrooms. Measure long distances with a yard stick and shorter distances with a ruler. Have fun!

Spyglass

Welcome back! Here are the photos from the first day of school. We made our self portraits out of different types of manipulatives. The Roadrunners had enormous fun constructing creative constructions. I hope you enjoy the photos!

Remember that there is a practice spelling test every Thursday. If the Roadrunner scores 100% they don't have to take the spelling test on Friday! (I will update the blog every Wednesday.)
