Countdown to Winter Vacation!

Hello!

We have a lot going on in the classroom the next two weeks.

Here is a schedule of what "special" events will be happening through next week.

Wednesday, December 5th is free dress day for those students who paid for it. All of the money raised goes towards the playground fund. Thank you for supporting!

Friday, December 7th is the Author and Artist Assembly. The parent assembly is at 2:15 on Friday.

Hanukkah begins on Saturday, December 8th. Happy Hanukkah to all of the families that celebrate it!

Week of December 9th-14th: We will not have any homework or spelling. I will still send home reading homework, sop please look for that in their backpacks.

Friday, December 14th: Wrapped Book Exchange. Please send in a wrapped book for a classmate. Labeled:  To: a friend/a boy/girl    From: your name
Anyone that brings in a book will receive a book in the exchange. If you are not going to be here next week you can choose to send in a book and I will save one for you, or choose to opt out of the exchange.

I have holiday packets made, and am looking forward to making crafts and celebrating the holidays with my wonderful group of students!
For our last day I wanted to celebrate with the class by making little gingerbread houses for them to take home! I thought it would be a fun project to do together!

Happy Holidays!

Your Teacher,
Ms Scuderi

Busy bees!

We have been very busy in our classroom! Lots of pictures coming!

A few quick announcements:

The book fair was a great success! Thank you for the new books for our classroom, for the volunteers, and for purchasing books!

To wrap up our social studies unit on the pacific states, the Roadrunners have a cereal box project due next Wednesday on one of the pacific states. Detailed instructions for the project are in their homework binders. If you have any questions, please let me know! We will do some research for the project at school, but the bulk of it is to be done at home. There is no homework next week. Instead they have this project they can work on.

I will be uploading a lot more photos but these are from our community service project. Thank you Jo and Abbi for offering to deliver them for the children at the hospital. The students really enjoyed making get well cards and get well baskets for other kids. We received so many wonderful items to give them. THANK YOU for all of the amazing donations. I know it made a difference in my students. They felt so proud to be helping others.
