Hello Parents,
The class had a wonderful time for St. Patrick's Day. The leprechaun struck early, leaving the class with up turned tables, papers scattered and shamrocks all over the room. This was followed by lerprechaun math, Irish poems, a "pot of gold" hunt and a leprechaun juice drink at the end of the day. Fun was had by all!
Assessments went out yesterday. After going through the assessment, if you would like to set a meeting please e-mail Mr. Butler or Mr. Lucas and we will set up a time to meet. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons work best.
For science class we will be learning about matter and energy. We will learn about the different stages of matter, the properties that each state has and how it changes. I will have pictures up soon of the different experiments we will do in class.
In math class we have been working with division, double digit multiplication and fractions. We have been learning how to compare fractions, and how to see which fraction is larger, smaller or if they are equal. Some work that your student could do at home is working on elapsed time questions. Ex. "If it was 3:30 when we left school, and we arrived home at 4:15, how long did it take for us to drive home?"
I hope that all of you have a wonderful spring break,
Two Wild and Crazy Guys
Krishna was super excited when he came back yesterday, kudos to the awesome teachers! We are enjoying the fractions.. will work on time, math that applies to something tangeable is great to work on:)
